Germany

June 2014, the first time I step foot in Germany. January 13th, 2017, the day I officially moved to Berlin, Germany.

The past 7 years have been a whirlwind of an adventure, to say the least. From difficulties like language barriers to magical experiences like meeting my fiancee, Germany has given me the best of both worlds.

In some cases, I get frustrated by German communication and miss Minnesotans. Truth be told, I occasionally feel frustrated here and have often considered moving back to the US. At the same time, I remember why I moved here in the first place. My heart is filled with memories and reminiscences of the incredible experiences I’ve had and everything I’ve learned so far. My travels have taken me to all corners of Europe and I’ve met some incredible people. My Minnesotan life would not have allowed me to accomplish any of that. As a result of learning a new language, I was able to incorporate German into my daily life and overcome obstacles.

Time and time again, I’ll say that Bronco is my good karma. He is the reward for everything good I’ve done in my life. The number one protector of my heart and the most gorgeous man!

The beauty that is the German population comes from their deep loyalty. It goes without saying for some, but to me, it’s a rarity. I appreciate it, whole-heartedly. Good people, good bread, boat-loads of history, and a fine-ass fiancee – not half bad.

I’ve had one hell of a journey here in Germany, and it’s only just begun.
